Tribute to Kadayanallur Venkatraman

Among the quiet architects of modern Carnatic devotional music, the name of Kadayanallur Venkatraman shines with serene brilliance. He was not one who sought fame, applause, or public celebration. Yet his music entered countless homes, temples, and hearts through melodies of rare grace and spiritual depth.

Born in 1929, he received formal musical training at the prestigious Swati Tirunal Music College in Thiruvananthapuram. His early career included service as a tambura artiste and later association with All India Radio, Madras, where his musical scholarship and sensitivity became widely admired.

His greatest gift to posterity was his collaboration with M. S. Subbulakshmi. Through her divine voice, his melodies attained immortality. Songs such as Kurai Onrum Illai became not merely compositions, but prayers carried on melody. His genius lay in wedding raga and bhava so naturally that tune and meaning seemed born together.

What made him extraordinary was not only musical brilliance, but humility. He remained gentle, self-effacing, and detached from publicity. In an age that often celebrates noise, he represented the greatness of silence. He showed that true art does not advertise itself; it radiates quietly.

Kadayanallur Venkatraman belongs to that noble lineage of Indian musicians who considered music a form of worship. His tunes continue to live wherever devotion seeks expression through song.

Though he has left the physical world, his melodies remain eternal. Every time Kurai Onrum Illai is sung, every time a devotee is moved to tears by a sacred lyric clothed in beauty, the spirit of Kadayanallur Venkatraman lives again.

May future generations remember him not merely as a composer, but as a saintly servant of Nada Brahman.

Remembering Kadayanallur Shri S. Venkatraman. Kadayanallur Shri S. Venkataraman (16 November 1929 – 6 February 2004), we remember one of the most gifted yet understated luminaries of Carnatic music — a composer, tunesmith, vocalist, accompanist, and tambura artist whose work enriched the spiritual and musical life of modern India.

Born in the serene town of Kadayanallur, he trained at the distinguished Swati Tirunal Music College, Thiruvananthapuram, where his grounding in classical music matured into rare depth and sensitivity. In his early years he served as a tambura artist, later joining All India Radio, Madras, where destiny brought him into closer association with the titan Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. Under Semmangudi’s guidance, he grew not merely as a disciple, but as a musician of profound inner resources.

Yet, if music history remembers him with special reverence, it is because of his extraordinary contribution to the immortal repertoire of Smt. M. S. Subbulakshmi.

Venkataraman was a man of few words and no self-promotion. But when he sang, genius revealed itself. M. S. Amma herself is said to have remarked, “When he began to sing, I knew he was a godsend.” Few tributes could equal this testimony from the greatest voice of modern India.

He possessed a rare power: the ability to enter the emotional soul of a lyric and clothe it in the perfect raga. He could hear poetry inwardly, intuit its bhava, and bring forth melodies that seemed eternal. Whether it was the philosophical intensity of “Kandu Kandu”, the tenderness of “Bhavayami Gopalabalam”, the maternal sweetness of “Jo Achyutananda”, or the ecstatic devotion of “Krishna Nee Begane Baro,” his compositions became inseparable from the songs themselves.

His role in popularising the Annamacharya kritis through the voice of M. S. Subbulakshmi was historic. When Tirupati Devasthanam sought to revive the saint-poet’s forgotten songs, it was Kadayanallur Venkataraman who breathed new melodic life into many of them. Through his ragas, ancient Telugu devotion re-entered the hearts of millions.

Those who saw him compose describe an unforgettable scene: seated quietly on the floor, eyes closed, absorbed only in sruti, he would create endless melodic possibilities — each nuanced, exact, and suited to M. S. Amma’s incomparable voice. He was not composing for fame. He was serving music.

Often, while the world applauded the singer in front, few noticed the humble tambura artist seated behind her. Yet that silent presence had shaped much of the music being heard. Such was the humility of Kadayanallur Shri S. Venkataraman.

He once expressed the spirit of true art in unforgettable words: We do not take up music to make money. There are easier ways to make money. We take up music because... if I have to explain it, you will not understand.

That statement reveals the man — detached from commerce, untouched by vanity, wholly surrendered to nada.

Today, countless devotees still listen to M. S. Subbulakshmi’s divine recordings, often unaware that behind many of those timeless melodies stood the invisible genius of Kadayanallur Venkataraman. His was not a loud legacy, but a luminous one.

He belonged to that vanishing generation for whom music was tapas, bhakti, and inner refinement.

On this sacred remembrance day, we bow to his memory with gratitude.

May the melodies he gave the world continue to elevate hearts for generations to come.

 April 30th Post

One Final Astrological Post i was expecting has been released - Balaji Haasan, He has about 85 to 90 percent strike rate - it is purely based on their birth charts (Time and Place has to be correct) - He has given DMK a majority in the concluded Assembly elections - i am praying and hoping that it will be wrong prediction - like last time he has made predictions for all the 234 Assembly Constituencies - and he has acknowledged that he has made a wrong prediction for about 30 seats out of 234. Lets see on May 4th 2026.

Exit polls has come - with a majority of the exit polls giving DMK a majority - that they will retain the power for the second time - first time in their political history. With Axis My india giving TVK an edge in the 2026 assembly elections - which is unbelievable to say the least - only one along with one more exit poll has given the TVK an edge.

There are 3 pollsters who have consistently given correct predictions or projections in the last elections like in Bihar, Maharashtra, Haryana, Odisha - JVC Polls. Spick Media has given a prediction for 2016 which was a given result to the DMK by all the pollsters but Spick Media gave it to AIADMK and AIADMK regained power. CNN News 18 which is another one which gave recent predictions true to the setup.

In Tamil Media Daily Thanthi has given too close a call - which is what is going to happen because of the TVK a forceful third party in the field and Malai Murasu which also has given a victory margin to AIADMK but not 'Telecasted' but it said in no  uncertain numbers. Spick media aling with Idam Valam has released the figures which looks authentic along with JVC Polls and Chanakya by Rangaraj Pandey along with Dinamalar has given 103 seats to DMK alliance and 102 to AIADMK alliance and 29 as too close to call - but with AIADMK on the edge as an alliance they will from a simple majoruty in the jsut concluded Assembly election 2026.

Where there is no disputes in the figures is for Assam, Puducherry and Keralam - where BJP. NRC with BJP alliance and UDF will form the government respectively.

In West Bengal whole india is waiting with bated breath - with BJP has a slight edge. It was a commendable election machinery made possible by Gyanesh Kumar CEC - a very successful conduct of the elections - where violence is part and parcel not normal violence - it is violence which will lead to death in hundreds and in phases of 7 , 8 and 9 phases of election will be conducted. But this time one ly by 2 phases 152 and 142 seats respectively with heavy deployment of CAPF - central army of paramilitary forces with very sporadic violences but no single death which is very  very commendable.

SIR has a greater effect there and the voting percentages of 93% in phase one and 91% in Phase 2 - overall of 92% of eligible voters have exercised their democratic rights which is stupendous achievement. Hats off tto he Central Election Commission.

Literally PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have camped in the West Bengal and Campaigned very aggressively by attending Rallies, Road Shows etc., in all parts of West Bengal in the Scorching Heat. Hope that gives them the expected result - Bharat needs the result of BJP victoryh in the very sensitive state bordering Bangladesh with the Intruders from Bangladesh (Royingya muslims) - guzbetiyan, Hindu Consolidation of Votes etc., One thing is that the Fear Factor for the Voters has been removed - earlier people has the fear to speak to the Press regarding the elections but this time women has come openly and expressed 'Priborton'  - change. Keenly awaiting the results...

MAY 4 2026 - it is going to be a exciting day - how exciting --- lets wait and watch.

Personal wish - Assam - BJP; Keralam - BJP should get 4-5 seats, Puducherry - NRC + BJP ; TN - AIADMK + and in WB - BJP. I am praying that this wish should be fulfilled.

Om Sri Sakthi Bagavathy Narayanee Namo Namah!!!!

 April 18th 2026 - POST

- Poll Predictions Continuations

JVC Poll - Predicted a commendable victory for AIADMK - Sweeping Delta, Kongu, Impressionable lead in North, South - Sweep. PMK Votes has been consolidated along with BJP - vote transfer will happen to AIADMK. In Delta - AMMK votes transfer has happened - in NDA votes transfers has happened but the same not happened in the DMK Alliance with Congress not working due to the differences, VCK transfer of votes not happening due to the incoming of the DMDK.

Chanakya call is close to call with 3 parts done till today NDA has the slight edge - we will come to know by 8 PM today what will the people has decided according to the analysis of Chanakya.

 - chanakya analysis is 103 for DMK, 102 for AIADMK and 29 On Call.

Chanakya will do two more analysis and predictions - once with Dinamalar with Peoples voices and another possibly and Exit Poll after Apr 23 2026.

WAITING for MAY 04 2027!!!!

We need to wait and see - People or Psephologists or Astrology is winning.

We need to wait till April 23 or April 29th for Balaji Haasan Astro predictions... to be continued

One important news that has happened this week is the Special Convene of the Parliament for the passing of the Bill for Women Empowerment (Reservation) of 33% seats in parliament, Constitutional Amendment of the Parliament Seats and along with the delimitation of the constituent seats.

Why and What made the BJP Headed NDA wanted to go with the Constitutional Amendment when they knows that to pass the Bills they need 2/3rd majority in the Parliament when they clearly knows they don't have the numbers. It is Calculated Call - we can say Chanakya Decision to put the 'OPPOSITION' INDI Alliance in 'SOUP' very well knows that they will oppose tooth and nail with DMK in the forefront along with TMC and SP.

First - 2023 by convening a special session 'INDIA' has passed the Women Reservation Bill - to give 33% reservation. When it will be done before 2029 Elections once the Census is completed. When Census is going to start in 2026 - now law has been passed for 2026 Census and it has already started in 8 states in the month of April 2026 and gradually in months from April 26 to August 26 all the states will be initiated except J&K , Ladakh which will happen last year.

Why census is needed - it is as per constitution of India for any parliamentary devolution of seats it has to happen based on the Census data and as per the constitution every 10 years census needs to be done.

Lastly in 1976 parliamentary devolution was done where in the Parliamentary seats has been raised to 543 that time the population was 55 Crores. Then in 1996 under vajpayee government when the Census was completed due to pressure as it was a minority government a moratorium was given to 20 years that the present parliamentary seats will be maintained. Census needs to happen in 2021 but due to Covid it was not done. Parliamentary devolution happened 2001-2002 when the districts was reconstructed - like pattukottai as a Parliamentary seat was removed and joined with a nearby district--that is another matter.

So now, when the time comes Census has become Law and it has started , by 2027 we will know the Status of the Population along with the Caste. So 2029 Devolution of Parliamentary seats should happen based on the Population census - if that happens southern states will lose the seats Ex: TN from 39 to 31; Keralam from 20 to 18, Karnataka from 24 to 20 , same for Telangana and AP; Because Population was reduced at the same time in North the Population was increased due to the population control measures taken by South States.

Everybody knows that this is not good - performing states should not be punished or penalised - BJP or any other party cannot face the Public if this happens so with the special convene of the parliament this anamoly would have been neutralized.

Now what would happen - As per the constitution once the census 2027 comes into effect the parliament seats should be delimited based on the population and southern states would lose the seats.

BJP lead NDA would initiate the passing of the Parliament Delimitation bill 2027 with 81st and 82nd Amendment as per the constitution with the delimitation based on population census. The said  bill can be passed with simple majority - the INDI Alliance cannot question that or  stall the bill -- it will be passed.

Once that has happened - BJP can ask CBN to withdraw the support to NDA and NDA will order the dissolution of the Parliament and SNAP election would be held by this time or earlier itself for 2027.

Major plank for NDA will the delimitation - 543 or 850???

 April 09th 2026

In continuation of the earlier post - few more Astro Predictions - Astro Sharmishta and Astro Counsel UK

- NDA --> Assam/WB/TN/Puducherry;

- NDA --> Assam/WB/TN/Puducherry; Both the Astros are very good - they predicted earlier elections of Delhi, Bihar, Maharashtra - and all of them  hit the Bulls Eye.

A psephologist i normally follows JVC - predicted the following

NDA - Assam/Puducherry and TN; WB - TMC (fervently i hope it comes false)

Astro predictions which has not come - KM Sinha / Balaji Haasan (Expect only after 29th April - he will play a safe bet after the elections as he don't want to antagonize his political friends (clients) from all the spectrum - his predictions shapes the 'Government' - more than 90% of his election predictions from all over the world has come true (USA, Australia, Malaysia etc.,)

First phase of elections over in - Keralam, Puducherry and Assam - with the voting percentage - 79%, 89% and 85% respectively - Looks like SIR is a success. Speaking of SIR in WB nealy 90 lakhs people (Voters) has been removed - 63 lakhs (Dead, Permanently Shifted, Double voters) and 27 lakhs after the 'PROLONGED' adjudication, Appealing tribunals - final adjudication by the Judicial Officers specially appointed by the Supreme Court of India under the supervision of the High Court of Calcutta. Looks like final voter list will not have all those names - with the 27 Lakhs 'Under Appeal' - the point is the districts are Murshidabad, 24 south Parganas and few more which are all 'MUSLIM' dominated and in the Border districts of WB-Bangladesh. Friday or Monday -Supreme Court will give the final verdict on the 27 lakhs voter list whether they can vote or not - but it looks like those people cannot be given the opportunity to vote - or they may segregate as WB has two phases - so adjudicate till end of next week for Phase I (Constituencies) and few more days for 2nd Phase - unlikely but possible - as it is under the Supreme Court so it may not be CONTROVERSIAL - but TMC played the SIR hand too much - they should have worked with the EC the way DMK , LDF worked in TN and Keralam respecctively.

IPL - games are interesting but bowling at the death overs are 'MOCKERY' todays game is one such, GT Versus DC - good game but strategically miller missed the trick but the last ball bowled by Pradip Krishna was good. Same for Tushar deshpande for RR against RCB.  Vaibhav Suryavanshi is playing great - for a 15 or 16 or 17 years old..

To Be Continued - Next Post is fully about the US-ISRAEL-IRAN WAR
