What is Vijays End Game - Is he DMK's B Team or Is he just want to be disruptor?
In the first glance itself we knows that he cannot be a Game Changer - meaning he cannot form the government in Tamil Nadu. Yes, Anti-Incumbency is in a higher pedestal - eventhough it is not like that in the run-up to the 2011 Assemble Elections, which was far more visible to the naked eye and it was a sustained great campaign done by Amma, by conducting district wise rallies and election speech directly attacking the leaders of the DMK - Ministers and the Local Leaders in the each district during the campaign.
My thought is Vijay expected some parties to cut the alliance from the AIADMK and DMK (NDA / UPA) but it didn't happen because nobody would want to rock the boat, that too the wily politicians who knows and who understands the ground realities. more so the pulse of the people. Vijay is not a leader he is still an actor in the election rallies, it is not the people who are thronging his rallies, yes, he is able to manage huge crowds in his rallies but they are all his FANS. There is a huge difference between FANS and PEOPLE. There has to be a grassroot level organizational strength whish is visibly not available for his Party No second rung leaders who can guide the party or his followers or the local strengths. It is only Vijay and his Face value. There is no visible contradiction of the policies against DMK or AIADMK or the NDA Alliance group. Whatever the DMK or AIADMK core policies it is the same policies he is speaking it in the rallies.
The behemoth of the Parties like DMK or AIAMK will eat out the local leaders of TVK. DMK are masters in that. In the local level DMK and AIADMK will form an alliance and they know the pulse and will not campaign vigorously if they knows which party is on strength , which will win election this time. At the end what do they want Power and Money - if no power then get the money and be happy.
DMK being in the government will put False Cases against the Local Leaders and harass them and their families - so the local leader support of the TVK will be fizzled down. it is all election strategy and finally the MONEY Power which is endless with the Present DMK Regime.
What Vijay should have done is what Vijaykanth had done with AIADMK during the 2011 Election campaign. He formed an alliance and became the Opposition Leader. He could have become a force to reckon with, if he had subdued his own ego and not go against the ruling AIADMK and personally against AMMA. From where his downfall has started - he should have shut down his ego and tried to strengthen his party at the grassroot level and get the benefits from the government while being in Power and reaped the benefits. He could have done that, because he wanted to do good to the people. but he miscalculated and lost all. the same path which Vijay is going now, he should have formed an alliance with NDA , get good number of seats, be in the government (Because it is a sure shot victory) and do good to the people and make the Party stronger and make it ready for the next elections.
Politics should not be EGOISTIC or PERSONAL CAMPAIGNS - which marks the BJP an exception. It forms alliance with parties, leaders who have done 'Persoanl Hate Campaigns' against Vajpayee/Advani and Present more so with MODI but still they form an alliance wait for an opportunity to strike it back.
Examples Alliance with BJD in Odisha, and in opportune time came out of the alliance and now ruling ODISHA. Telugu Desam , chandrababu naidu went againt BJP and now they are in alliance and ruling Andhra. Bihar, Nitish said that in 2014 that he will resign and go out of politics if Modi wins the election. Now they are in ruling alliance and now BJP Leader is going to be the CM and Nitish is moving to Delhi as Rajya Sabha MP.
Lets see what is in store for TN - 2026 Assembly Election - one thing is sure this will be a fascination election with Four parties and alliances in fray - NDA. Secular Alliance lead by DMK. TVK lead by Vijay , NTK lead by Seeman.
