2018 - First Post - Post in Six Months!!!
Eid Mubarak!!! - As this blog is being written on Eid (Ramadhan)
Introduction:
In the 6 months what are the important things happened in India / World in the fields of Sports, Politics, TV & Film Industry, Technology, Personal Life etc.,
Sports:
Cricket
In the month of January 2018 Indian cricket did well in the One Day Internationals and in Twenty 20 Cricket bilateral series with SA after series loss in the Tests. It all started with the wind in the 4th Final test and went on to win the One day and T20 series. Virat Kohli had a wonderful season and establishing being the bulwark of the indian team and taking forward steps to being No.1 - definitely going to beat lot of existing records of Sachin - with fitness being the key on which Virat is doing great (Take the case Ambati Rayudu after a great season of IPL where he scored more than 600 runs , selected for England Tour for ODI and T20 - but failed the famous YoYo benchmark test and dropped from the Squad) - Old school of thought would say if the player can withstand the 50 Overs, running between the wickets then he is fit.
Eng Vs SA Series : Good Series but ended in a sour note with Steve Smith, David Warner, Bencroft suspended for violating the spirit of Game of Cricket by Ball Tampering. Sad Day for the Game of Cricket. Taken the winning mentality to very low point indeed.
IPL : Great Season and what a great comeback for CSK - winning the Cup. Great IPL for Dhoni - who is back with his great hitting - good news for India ODI and T20I. MI had a disappointing season - started very badly, had a great middle innings but at the final steps faltered and failed to qualify.
Football : Great Season for Real Madrid, Ziadane - winning the 3rd consecutive Champions League but failed to lift the La Liga which Barcelona did it with relative ease. Barcelona lost to AS Roma in the QF league itself. UCL has two great goals this season one by Ronaldo and another one from Bale - two excellent goals. Sad is Zidane leaving Real Madrid.. it is a difficult club to manage!!!
EPL - Manchester city won very comfortably but could not go beyond QF in the UCL.
Ligue1 - PSG won all the club cups but could not go beyond QF and Neymar missing the great deal of Ligue matches with injury
World Cup FIFA 2018 : Just remembering the last world cup at 2014 and just time passes very quickly and next world cup has come and it is the 3rd day only but we are having an excellent world cup - ICELAND drawing Argentina with Messi missing the Penalty. Portugal Ronaldo had a great game and the Football was also very thrilling. What a Free-Kick from Ronaldo - that is why he is called as 'GOAT'. Brazil is not yet played a game - Neymar regaining full fitness - praying that Brazil should lift the cup.
Tennis : 20 Grand slams from Roger Federer - winning the 3 grandslams in one year - Wimbledon - 2017, USOPEN 2017 and AO -2018 - Aged 35. Nadal - winning the French Open 2017 , French Open 2018 - 17 Grand Slams - aged 31.
Other Sports : Chess : Vishy keeping his head high and winning Competitions like old days.. Good Comeback from vishy in the last one year.
Politics : Modi doing a great work but not appreciated by the Media - but people are with him and with no great opposition he has good chances keeping the BJP in power for next 5 years.
In tamilnadu - EPS/OPS combine not doing extra ordinary work - but keeping the state afloat. Crisis - Sterlite, Methane gas plans, - so many protests happening. Rajini Kamal entering the full-fledged politics - should be fun. But Politics not run through WhatsApp, twitter but on the ground - so it would be difficult to dethrone AIADMK or DMK from the politics. But Rajini has a great charisma who can bring the people to vote - he can change the face of TN.
Entertainment : Good Binge watching - Billions, Trust - David Boyle. But enjoying the good series in ALT Entertainment - Gandhi Bhat - taking the TV series to another level. Latest in Netflix Lust Stories - oh!! Come On !! what's happening in Indian Entertainment. Usual Films - but Mixed reviews for Kala- no great films.
Personal : By God's and Elder's grace family is doing good.
Note : Ending the day with the not successful migration of DHFL pramerica.
