TN Assembly Election - 2026; My Views

 TVK - Vijay - Political Entry

Question is What is the political impact on the TN Politics? Is he gathering any traction? What is the relevance it is going to happen in the Assembly Elections 2026? Who is going to get affected is it DMK or AIADMK?

- Certainly Vijay has unsettled or churned the murky waters of the TN Politics. His advantage of being a mass hero with a great fan following has certainly reached atleast the urban and semi-urban areas of TN. His entry is not in a whimsical fashion, but cleverly and clearly pathed out a way by his father S A Chandrasekhar. Timing of his entry had a fallout between vijay and his father which played out in the public but vijay has charted his own course. 

Because of his mass hero image crowd are thronging his meeting venues and rallies, which in karur has led to a stampede in which 41 people were killed. It shows that common people wanted to see a STAR not a LEADER, in my opinion. His political claims or policies (not ideology), there is no ideology parties in TN - may be as a national party we can talk of BJP , atleast they have an ideology (Hindutva or Hindu politics etc.,)  are not any different from his principal opponent DMK or AIADMK. 

We can go to an extent and say there are no policy differences between DMK or AIADMK - both opposes NEET Exams, NEP 2024, on Secularism, on Periyar, on Tamil language, on Navodaya Schools, on Hindi etc., we can go on and on and on.. The same language Vijay is speaking, which shows that politics atleast in TN doesn't need any ideology.  People also not asking what is your core ideology - it is always against corruption, For Secularism, blah, blah etc., 

On traction in TN Politics arena, yes he has done a major impact, but electoral politics is different from the day-to-day politics. Electoral politics needs an organisational strength which he doesn't have, he is battling against the parties which have over 50 years of experience DMK / ADMK and even then other parties. He has money power, misisionaries are working overtime to help him. He being a christian himselt and he has starting using his real name Joseph Vijay rather than Vijay which till he was using as a Screen Name - there is the Minority card being played which is impacting the minority politics of DMK and its allies which was having the upper hand on the minority votes in TN Politics.

The relevance is Vijay has a sway over the GENZ voters, aged between 18 to 30 years old - who are all Vijays fans - his screen image or screen hero. Ex: Seeman has a 35 lakhs voters - his last election he has got all over tamil nadu but he is not having a single MLA or MP - so there is the data for you. Gathering crowd over electotal politics wherein you need votes are different dynamics being played here. 

So what is going to happen in the TN Elections from now .. Vijay is talking about Anti-DML which is a great strategy , he is talking about direct contest between TVK and DMK , which today will indirectly has an advantage for AIADMK; Anti-DMK votes , some percentage will go to TVK, Minorities some percentage will go to TVK - so least will be he will be gathering about 15% votes as of today - but it will have zero impact on the overall 'SEATS' - maybe he will win - that also if tough candidates posed by the other parties , Parties with 'Unlimited' Wealth - it will be very tough. 

Unless Vijay forms an alliance with Congress/VCK \/Communist Parties - these parties will bring 'Legitimacy' to TVK - it will be tough three cornered contest or four cornered contest taking into account Naam Thamizhar Katchi by Seeman. 

AIADMK has to win this election or atleast they have to get minimum 75 seats, else EPS days are numbered. It is a D-or-Die battle for EPS. EPS has to understand that he is no MGR or AMMA - they have their own individuality charisma which goes beyond the Party. This is lacking in EPS but he is so stubborn that his party is losing its strength - OPS/TTV/Sasikala - in the Devar Belt - they hold considerable influence in 'Devar' belt. EPS has to be more accommodative in forming an alliance. 

For DMK it is going to be a tough elections - anti-incumbency is rampant , it is becoming more visible by the day, which will only grow in the coming days. But they have the organisational strength combined with Muscle and Unlimited Money Power - it will be very tough to unseat them. NDA alliance has to be strong - DMDK, Anubumani PMK. TMC, Puthiya Thamizhagam etc, they have to be on-board and they have to do a relentless campaign and will have a great chance to Useat the DMK.

Overall it is going to be an Interesting Election - 2026 TN Assemble.

 November to December 2025 - Bihar, SIR, IPL Mini Auction, Durandhar, Tariffs

Bihar Election : NDA has won the Bihar Election by an overwhelming Majority 202 Seats with the INDI Alliance winning just 35 Seats, AIMIM 5 Seats. Nitishkumar selected as the NDA CM with BJP getting the Deputy CM importantly getting the Home Ministry Portfolio. As usual Pappu spoked about the Vote Chori which the INDI Alliance other members did not spoke off. So many theories floated how NDA can win with such a majority - looks like People wants continuity, Law and Order was good, Prohibition which enabled the women folks to feel better. Overall the policies of the government gave them this such a majority. BJP alone won 98 seats and emerging as the largest party in the Bihar Assemble - which is a great achievement. Overall Double Sarkar has won against the vote chori campaign, Katta, Jungle Raaj, Caste etc.,

BJP : Sprang a surprise by selecting Nithin Nabhi a 45 year old 5 time MLA from Bihar as the Nest BJp Working PRESIDENT; think of surprises BJP will do that. He is not supposed to be in the Picture so many names floated but BJP top brass of Modiji, Amit Shah has selected a young leader to lead the BJP . Next generation of leaders - BJP who can identify the young leaders potential, nurture it and give them responsibilities. 

SIR : SIR Revision in the 12 states completed and today most importantly WB Election Commission released the first draft roll - First Information states that about 58 Lakhs Voters name has been removed from the Electoral Rolls - deletion consists of Dead Voters Name, Permanently Shifted Voters, Double Entries Voters, Form not submitted by the voters and  Voters not able to identify them.

For Tamilnadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan by 19th - 26th Dec draft rolls will be released. Drama is awaited. Supreme Court has indirectly given the Go - Ahead to conduct the SIR

IPL Mini Auction - Drama is going on as i write the blog. kartik Sharma, Partha Veer - sold for 10 crores and 14 crores respectively. cameronn green for 25 Crores.. Lets see how it ends 

TN Politics - Vijay as usual giving statements and Sengottaiyan has joined TVK. Supposed to have a meeting on Erode on 16th and Vijay has gone to GOA for a mini vacation - rumours spread that Trisha also went along with him. Don't know what is the impact he is going to play on the TN Election. NDA is on full tilt - hopefully they strengthen with DMDK, PML both the factions, OPS and TTV joins the fold. DMK has ignited the 'HINDU' politics by not allowing to lit the Karthigai Dheepam on the Deepathoon at Thirukazhukundrm Temple.  ED has given the details with evidences to file corruption cases on KN Nehru - two cases of 808 crores and 1200 crores - but as usual DMK government is dilly dallying on that.

Durandhar : Film that is running successfully - a true narrative about the Pakistan terrorist elements with good direction, great acting etc., Waiting for the film to be released in OTT

Tariffs : Trump as usual shouting from the roof tops on the Tariffs - but the US Economy is in shambles and he is giving cash hand our support of 12 USD Billion dollars to the farments who has lost 43 USD Billions

Trade negotiations with the US has reached a level  wherein political call has to be taken from the US side to sign-on the deal. India has clearly stated that the Agri Market is not for discussion at all. 

EU Trande negotiations has come to an end phase - we will hear some good news in the coming week or two - EU top leadership is going to come to India - Republic day chief Guest and 27th Jan they may sign the Trade Deal.

Modiji is on the 3 nation tour of Jordan, Ethiopia and Oman. Oman and India will announce the trade deal during the visit.

India is on trade deal discussion with new zealand, Mexico, Russion Bloc of countries etc., 

Putin Visit: A hallmark visit by Putin to India. Modiji went to the Airport to receive the President. Provate Dinner and ceremonial welcome in Rashtrapathi Bhavan and also Business leaders forum - this has been taken the friendship between the two countries. Planned to take the business to USD 100 Billion by 2030.
